Compare Portable Pizza Ovens
We sell the Lil Luigi, so read this knowing that. Every number below comes from each maker's own website or manual, checked on October 22, 2026, and we've pointed out where the Lil Luigi loses. Prices change with sales, so check the maker's page before you decide.
The quick version
If you want a complete wood fired kit with nothing else to buy, get the Lil Luigi. The cover, carry bag, peel, poker, and cutter are in the box, and it's $299 with free shipping here. On an Ooni Karu 12, the peel and cover alone add $105.
If you want the lightest oven to carry, look at the Ooni Karu 12 (26.5 lb) or the Gozney Arc Lite (26.4 lb). The Lil Luigi is heavier, somewhere between 32 and 42 lb depending on which WPPO document you read.
If you'd rather cook with gas and skip tending a fire, the Gozney Arc Lite, the Solo Stove Pi Prime, or an Ooni with the gas burner make more sense. The Lil Luigi burns wood, chips, pellets, or charcoal, and WPPO sells a gas burner for it separately for $129.
If you just want the cheapest way to try wood fired pizza, the Pizzello Grande and the Big Horn were both under $130 on sale. Expect thinner steel and no stainless interior.
And if you're on a balcony or your HOA doesn't allow fire, the Ninja Artisan is electric. It plugs into a wall outlet and reaches 700°F.

Where the Lil Luigi loses
It runs a little cooler on paper. WPPO's manual says 900°F max, and Ooni, Gozney, and Solo Stove claim 950°F. For Neapolitan style pizza at 650 to 750°F, either one is plenty.
It's heavy. It's one of the heavier portable ovens, which is fine on a patio or in the back of a car and less fun to carry very far.
The warranty is shorter. WPPO gives you 1 year, with no extension for registering. Ooni and Gozney go to 5 years if you register within 60 days, and Solo Stove covers defects for life.
There aren't many reviews. You'll find very few public reviews of the Lil Luigi anywhere, and as a new shop we don't have any yet. If you buy one, we'll ask you for an honest one.
There's no gas option in the box. If you never want to tend a fire, buy a gas oven.
Where it wins
Everything comes in the box: cover, carry bag, peel, poker, cutter, and a built in gauge. The body is 430 stainless steel with a double wall and fire blanket insulation, where the Karu 2 is powder coated carbon steel. The hinged door has a window, so you can watch the bake without letting the heat out. And the price holds up once shipping is counted. It's $299 shipped here, the big retailers charge $399.99 for the same kit, and a 40 lb oven isn't cheap to ship.
Not sure which oven fits your setup? Ask us. If the right answer for you is an Ooni or a Gozney, we'll tell you.
